About us

A New Light of Orthodoxy in Meridian ∙ Idaho

Treasure Valley Orthodox Mission is a growing, multiethnic Orthodox Christian community serving the faithful of Meridian and the greater Treasure Valley. Originating from Romanian, Greek, and Middle Eastern Orthodox backgrounds, our mission formed out of a need for more space, more programs, and worship in English, Romanian, and Greek. With blessings from the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America and under the jurisdiction of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA), our goal is to build a transparent, local-centered parish that serves those rooted in Orthodox tradition. We are currently gathering at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Nativity and are guided by Rev. Fr. Florin Iftode, who brings experience from other successful mission efforts. We invite you to join us in prayer, fellowship, and service as we work to establish a permanent home and grow together in Christ. Whether you're a lifelong Orthodox Christian or just beginning to explore the faith, you are welcome here.

Building Faith, One Family at a Time

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

It is with great joy and hope that I greet you as we take the first steps in building this new Orthodox Christian mission here in Meridian. We come together from diverse backgrounds—Romanian, Greek, Middle Eastern—and yet we are united by one Faith, one Tradition, and one goal: to worship God in spirit and truth, and to establish a spiritual home for our families and future generations.

Our mission is more than a building or a service—it is a living expression of Christ’s love within our local community. With your help, we can grow something beautiful here: a parish rooted in the ancient Orthodox faith, grounded in local service, and open to all. We envision a place where children can learn and grow in faith, where families can find peace and support, and where all can experience the richness of Orthodox liturgy in English, Romanian, and Greek.

Let us walk this journey together, prayerfully and humbly, as we lay the foundation for something lasting. With faith, transparency, and your support, we can one day build a permanent church—a home filled with worship, community outreach, and vibrant youth programs.

May the Lord bless our efforts and unite us in His love.
In Christ,
Fr. Florin Iftode

"This mission will be a place for all who seek the richness of Orthodox faith—a place to experience God’s mercy, build lasting community, and raise future generations in love, service, and tradition."

Faith, Fellowship, and Support

We are thankful for every act of generosity—whether through stewardship, lighting a candle, or offering a one-time gift. Your support helps us grow this mission from the ground up, sustain our worship services, and invest in outreach, youth programs, and a future permanent church for our local Orthodox community.
