Glory to God for all things!
Our first Divine Liturgy of 2026 was truly a blessing. We are deeply thankful to Father Florin for his faithful service, dedication, and generosity in giving his time and encouragement as our mission continues to grow. We are also grateful for the beautiful spirit of fellowship among all who gathered.
As we continue through this season, let us prepare our hearts with repentance, prayer, fasting, and acts of charity. This is a sacred time to draw nearer to Christ and to one another in love and humility. Our gratitude goes out to everyone who participated and helped make this day possible.
We are also thankful for the continued support of those helping our small but growing Orthodox Christian community here in the Treasure Valley.
Looking Ahead
Our next Divine Liturgy will be on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by coffee hour and fellowship.
We are also planning to begin a weekly small fellowship group. The local Episcopal church has kindly agreed to let us use their meeting room on Wednesday evenings, except for the third Wednesday of each month. If you, or someone you know, would like to help lead or organize a small group session, please let us know.
Choir And Service Help
Please consider joining the choir. New voices are always welcome. No experience is needed — only a desire to praise God and serve.
We also welcome help preparing and caring for our worship space. From setting up before services to cleaning afterward, every small act of service is deeply appreciated.
A Note On Peace, Prayer, And The Times We Live In
Many of us are watching the news with heavy hearts as conflicts continue around the world. Recent reporting notes that there are now more than 50,000 American troops in the Middle East, with added Marines, sailors, and Army forces sent into the region during this latest conflict.
As Christians, we must be careful not to let the faith be used as a tool for war, division, or political messaging. Our calling is higher. Christ calls us to repentance, mercy, truth, and peace. Even when nations are in conflict, the Church must remain rooted in prayer, compassion, and the dignity of every human person.
We pray for all who are in danger — especially for soldiers, civilians, families, the wounded, the grieving, and those far from home. We pray that those serving in harm’s way may be protected and, God willing, return home safely. We also pray that hearts may be softened, violence may cease, and peace may prevail.
History reminds us that religion has sometimes been misused for power, conflict, or conquest. That is not the way of Christ. The Church must never glorify war or turn the Gospel into a weapon. Instead, we must witness to the peace of Christ, who teaches us to love even in a broken world.
Let us therefore pray not for destruction, but for wisdom, restraint, mercy, and peace.
A Prayer For Peace
O Lord Jesus Christ, Prince of Peace, look with mercy upon Your world and upon all who suffer because of war, fear, and violence. Protect the innocent, comfort the grieving, heal the wounded, and guide all leaders away from pride, hatred, and bloodshed.
Watch over those in military service and all who are in danger. Bring them safely home to their families, according to Your will. Turn every heart toward repentance, justice, mercy, and peace.
Teach us not to repay evil with evil, but to stand firm in faith, hope, and love. Let Your peace reign in our hearts, in our homes, and among all nations.
For You are holy, and to You we give glory, together with Your Father who is without beginning, and Your all-holy, good, and life-creating Spirit, now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen.
